A new version of the database used in Mayer and Zignago (2005) is now available. This release updates previous data in Production and bilateral protection, and proposes bilateral trade figures, based on BACIdataset. Specifically, the changes are: Bilateral trade is obtained from an aggregation based on product classification SITC Rev 2 for the 1980-2004 period. More details on the methodology can be found in this document .

• Production figures have been expanded until 2004, following the same methodology than previous version. Figures are based on the information from the World Bank dataset "Trade, Production and Protection", and complemented with figures by OECD and UNIDO.
  
  
• Bilateral protection data is extended until 2001 with data from MAcMap project.
  

These data are available in three files in Stata format: Prod_cepii8004_STATA.rar, Trade_cepii8004_STATA.rar and Tar_cepii8901_STATA.rar.
They are also in CSV format: Prod_cepii8004_CSV.rar, Trade_cepii8004_CSV.rar and Tar_cepii8901_CSV.rar.
